Why Katrina Halili broke up with Kris Lawrence

MANILA - Katrina Halili opened up about the reason behind her decision to break up with singer Kris Lawrence, whom she parted ways back in January.

In an interview with PEP.ph published on Thursday, the 28-year-old actress explained that she felt that neither of them have matured throughout their 5-year relationship.

Basta, mas okay kami na separate ways," she added.

According to Halili, the two remain in good terms. She said that Lawrence has been a dutiful father and is shouldering some of their daughter's educational expenses.

"Naghahati kami sa mga binabayaran kay Katie (Katrence), like may tutor siya, may school pa," Halili said.

Asked about whether there are any lingering feelings for Lawrence and if there's a chance of the two getting back together, Halili said: "Love as a friend."

She also added that she is not interested in entertaining any suitors at the moment. Instead, she is choosing to focus on her career and Katrence, saying "ayoko rin naman, hindi naman ako naghahanap."

PH seeks to block adultery website

"LIFE IS SHORT. HAVE AN AFFAIR" - DISAGREE!"

MANILA -- Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said Sunday she is seeking to block extramarital dating site Ashley Madison in the country -- under charges it facilitates crime.

"The website is a platform that allows illegal acts to be eventually committed. A ban may be enforced," de Lima said in an SMS statement, referring to Ashley Madison.

The Canada-based firm, which has the slogan: "Life is short. Have an affair," recently launched its website in the Philippines, where the population is largely Roman Catholic and divorce is illegal.

De Lima stressed that "adultery" also remains against the law in the Philippines, even though it has largely been un-enforced and is a country where many powerful men flaunt their mistresses.

Adultery and "concubinage," are punishable by at least six months in jail under Philippine law.

"The (telecommunications companies) will have to do their part to ensure that illegal content and websites that are used to drive illicit conduct are not used," she said.

De Lima did not specify if they could be compelled to block the website.

Local press reports said that at least 2,500 Filipinos have already signed up to the website since its recent launch.
Singapore and South Korea have previously banned Ashley Madison, citing that it threatened family values.

"PARA SA PINOY MAHALAGA ANG PAMILYA! THUMBS UP SECRETARY DE LIMA!"

Bangsamoro timetable on track, Palace assures

MANILA - Malacanang believes the deadline for the creation of the Bangsamoro political entity is still on track amid the tight schedule for the passage of a supporting law at the legislative level.
“What we are looking at is the May 2016 schedule by which we are able to hold elections for the officials of the Bangsamoro political entity. The Bangsamoro Transitional Assembly needs enough time to undertake the plebiscite,” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. told radio dzRB.
Aquino ally and Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II admitted that the House of Representatives will be unable to meet its self-imposed deadline in approving the draft basic law within the year.
He noted that a special committee is still conducting public hearings, which have been scheduled until the third week of December. After that, Congress will go on a one-month Christmas break.
“We recognize that Congress is doing its part by consulting the public on the matter,” Coloma said.
He believes the lawmakers also recognize there is an urgency in passing the basic law.
But Coloma said there is still enough time between now and the elections.
“We do not doubt we will be able to achieve peace, while at the same time we also recognize the constraints that our lawmakers are experiencing,” he said.

Female Marine officer killed inside Fort Bonifacio | ABS-CBN News

MANILA - A female Marine officer was shot dead inside a military facility in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City, the Philippine Navy said Friday.
The body of 1Lt. Shelina Calumay was found around 6 am last Wednesday with a gunshot wound in the face.
Calumay's body was discovered by a Marine personnel at the driver seat of the victim's car at the parking lot of Jurado Hall inside the Naval Station Jose Francisco.
"Initial result of the investigation disclosed that she sustained a gunshot wound infront of her face. Her personal belongings, that is her wallet and cellphone, is nowhere to be found. No firearm was also found in the vicinity," Navy public affairs officer Lt. Cmdr. Marineth Domingo said in a statement.
Domingo said a hole was seen on the left window of the car where Calumay was found. Paraffin test and autopsy were also conducted, he added.
Calumay, a member of the Naval Officers Candidate Course 13, was married to a Marine sergeant. She recently gave birth to a child.
Domingo said the Navy's Provost Marshal General is conducting a parallel probe to complement the efforts of the Philippine National Police.
On whether the motive was robbery, Domingo said: "We cannot rule out anything yet. We have to see the final result of the investigation. This is already a police matter though we have a parallel effort in support to the PNP in gathering facts."

Wanted Maserati driver urged to surrender

MANILA - Interior Secretary Mar Roxas on Friday urged the owner of the blue Maserati Ghibli who assaulted a traffic enforcer from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday to surrender immediately.
Roxas urged Joseph Russel Abacan Ingco to explain himself to authorities after having been charged with serious physical injury, direct assault upon an authorized officer and grave threat, as per the Quezon City Police District.
According to the initial police report, Ingco reacted violently after he was asked to stop by MMDA enforcer Jorbe Adriatico for a traffic violation. Adriatico's companion caught the incident on video.
"We already know details about the suspect and we are just waiting for an arrest warrant to be issued. Until then, he has ample time to think about presenting himself peacefully before the police," Roxas added.

Floyd Mayweather stayed mum on Manny Pacquiao’s challenge for a mega-fight next year. Instead, the reigning WBC welterweight champion posted a video on his Instagram account. It featured Pacquiao’s match against Juan Manuel Marquez where he was knocked down and ultimately knocked out.

He does not have a challenger for the next year's fight.  We hope that Mayweather will have is balls out to fight our Pambansang Kamao...

MMDA enforcer sinapak, kinaladkad ng naka-Maserati.. Grabe
