A viral photo of Mar Roxas riding an MRT is making the rounds online and went viral after it was posted originally in the Facebook Page “Oras Na, Roxas Na.” According to the description of the photo posted on Facebook, the photo was taken by a commuter who was also riding the MRT during that time.......  Ok na sana e kaso... nagkamali sila ng comment na ilagay ung Photo credits by Team Mar... so ibig sabihin scripted lahat ng nangyari...

A commuter took a picture of Sec. Mar Roxas who rode the MRT yesterday to avoid the usual Friday pay day traffic jam. This was between Buendia station and Quezon ave.

This is the humble and modest trait of Mar Roxas. Kung ibang na sa mataas na posisyon sa gobyerno yan, malamang ay ginamit na nila ang kanilang impluwensiya at koneksyon para makarating ng mabilis sa kanilang pupuntahan. Yan si Mar. Hindi gumagamit ng police escorts. Hindi nangbu-bully ng kapwa motorista. HIndi utak wang-wang. Ang karapat-dapat na sumunod na presidente ng Pilipinas.

Nikki Gil checks off most of her bucket list in My Big Bossing

Marami raw natupad sa bucket list ni Nikki Gil dahil sa pelikulang My Big Bossing, entry ng OctoArts Films, M-Zet TV Productions, at APT Entertainment sa Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2014 sa Disyembre 25.

Ang trilogy movie ay nahahati sa tatlong episodes—“Sirena”, “Taktak”, at “Prinsesa”.

Una na ngang natupad sa bucket list ni Nikki ay ang pagkakaroon ng MMFF entry sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon.

“Very exciting po, first time po akong sasali ng MMFF,” sabi ni Nikki.

Isa rin sa ikinae-excite ng Kapamilya actress-TV host ay ang pagsama niya sa Parade of Stars na magaganap sa Disyembre 23.

“Mismo at naka-full costume habang tirik na tirik ang araw. I can’t wait.”

Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Nikki sa presscon ng My Big Bossing na ginanap kahapon, Nobyembre 26, sa Guilly’s restaurant, sa Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Lubos daw ang kasiyahan ni Nikki nang malaman niyang makakasama siya sa cast ng My Big Bossing, lalo na nga’t karamihan sa makakatrabaho niya sa cast ay mula sa GMA, sa pangunguna ng mga bidang sina Vic Sotto at Ryzza Mae Dizon.

Saad niya, “Siyempre masaya dahil nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na mapabilang dito.

“Sabi ko nga, sa movie na ito, I made a lot of new friends, kasi first time ko pong makatrabaho ang marami sa kanila.

“Siyempre sa umpisa, medyo na-intimidate nang konti kay Bossing [Vic]. Siyempre Bossing is Bossing.

“Pero nangibabaw naman po yung it’s such an honor to be part of such an awesome ensemble and para po makatrabaho ang ilan sa pinakamagagaling sa industriya.

“It’s a beautiful experience.”

BOSSING VIC. Kasama rin daw talaga sa bucket list ni Nikki ang makatrabaho si Bossing Vic.

“Oo naman, siyempre. Sino ba namang artista ang wala sa bucket list yun?” sabi niya.

Ano ang mga nadiskubre niya kay Bossing gayundin ang mga ugaling nagustuhan niya sa aktor?

Ayon kay Nikki, “Siyempre hindi ko ini-expect na for a very big star, e, ganun siya ka-down to earth. “Sobra ko namang natuwa na nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na makatrabaho siya. 

“Very low maintenance at siyempre napakagaling na artista.”

Bilang isa sa main hosts ng Eat Bulaga! si Bossing, sigurado na bang magge-guest siya sa naturang noontime show ng GMA para mag-promote?

Sagot ni Nikki, “Hindi ko pa po alam, e, kasi nasa kanila yung schedule. Pero sana po, kung maimbitahan.” Papayagan kaya siya ng ABS-CBN? “Siguro naman, oo. Papayag naman siguro.” 

THE QUEEN. 

Natupad din daw ni Nikki ang childhood dream niyang maging isang reyna. Ginagampanan niya ang role ni Reyna Bea sa episode na “Prinsesa”, bilang ina ni Ryzza Mae. 

“I think lahat naman ng batang babae, pinangarap iyon [ang maging reyna]. “So, marami ang na-check sa bucket list ko dito sa pelikulang ito. 


“’Tapos baby ko pa rito ang napakagaling, napakatalino, at very talented na si Ryzza Mae.” 

Proud ding ibinahagi ni Nikki na siya ang kumanta ng theme song ng pelikula. “Ako po yung kumanta ng theme song ng My Big Bossing, yung ‘Bukas Na.’ “So, kumbaga, sa bucket list ko na-check ko na iyon, yung kumanta ng theme song ng movie.”

James Reid and Nadine Lustre FOUND each other

MANILA -- James Reid and Nadine Lustre, known for their rom-com movie team-ups in “Diary ng Panget” and “Talk Back and You’re Dead,” are undeniably two of the hottest young stars today. Their charisma and chemistry have captivated the young and not-so-young fans, making them one of the most talked about onscreen couple in local show business.

While some people might dismiss their success as quick and painless, this was not the case for both, as they had to endure many years of hard work, temporary setbacks and patient waiting.

James and Nadine share with Chalk Magazine their respective journeys to success, and how they found their way to each other to become the phenomenally popular pairing known as JaDine.

The 21-year old Nadine has always carried with her the heart of a star. Even when she was still young, she knew what she wanted to be. Always been the bibo kid while growing up, she began to sing, dance, act and even sketch.

At 8, Nadine became a children-oriented show host and appeared in several TV commercials. This was followed by her membership in an all-female singing group called Pop Girls and her lead role in a youth TV series, “Bagets Just Got Lucky.”

James Reid, on the other hand, never contemplated stardom while growing up in Australia. He only considered joining showbiz when he moved to the Philippines in 2010. His first break came when he entered the Pinoy Big Brother house and eventually hailed the grand winner of "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010." He discovered his talent for both acting and singing, but never really took it seriously.

“It kind of happened so fast. I had to learn to sing and dance and I didn’t know the language, so it was hard at first. I got into some TV shows. I went to a lot of mall shows. I enjoyed it, but I wasn’t serious about it,” James shares.

It was only when he saw his savings dwindle and his desire to help his family that he deliberately decided to get serious and get back on his feet.

Though their journeys were stark contrasts, with Nadine treading a slow and sure career path, and James going for the rockier one, their paths eventually crossed when both signed up with Viva Artists Agency in 2013

Their undeniable onscreen chemistry was first noticed when Nadine joined James in the latter’s music video, playing lovebirds, running around and being convincingly sweet and cute.

Interestingly, they had the silliest impressions of each other while working together for the first time. Nadine thought that James was “some foreigner who would be so hard to work with,” while he thought she was, yes, Kathryn Bernardo.

All these, as we can now say, are history, as both proved their mettle in giving all they’ve got and JaDine is expected to win more Filipinos’ hearts.

Ryzza Mae is a Sirena

MANILA - Child star Ryzza Mae Dizon plays three different characters, including a mermaid, in the upcoming film "My Big Bossing," one of the eight entries in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The two minute-trailer of the movie also shows Dizon, 9, as a girl haunted by ghosts inside a hospital and as a commoner-turned-princess adjusting to royal life.

Her co-star, veteran comedian Vic Sotto, earlier described "My Big Bossing" as a three-in-one offering, citing three different stories all starring him and Dizon. "Sirena" will feature Dizon as a mermaid named Dyesa, "Prinsesa" is a "Frozen"-inspired tale, while "Taktak" is a horror story with a kiddie twist.

According to Sotto, the "Sirena" episode was created upon the insistence of Dizon to fulfill her dream of portraying a mermaid. The addition of the two other stories, he added, was the result of conflicting ideas during brainstorming.

"Hindi kami magkasundo kung ano ang gagawin. Sabi ko, 'Gawin na lang natin lahat! Gawin nating one-third, one-third, one-third,'" he said in an October interview.

Dizon said she is happy to portray three different characters, but said she is especially excited to don a mermaid's tail for the role of Dyesa.

The episode "Sirena" was directed by Tony Reyes, "Taktak" by Marlon Rivera, and "Prinsesa" by Joyce Bernal. The movie also stars Marian Rivera, Nikki Gil, Manilyn Reynes, Pauleen Luna, Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo, among others.

"My Big Bossing" will compete against seven other movies in the main section of the MMFF -- "Feng Shui," "Shake, Rattle & Roll 14," "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2," "Bonifacio," "English Only, Please," "Magnum Muslim .357," and "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin."

Why Toni doesn't want to get married this year

MANILA – Toni Gonzaga said she and her long-time boyfriend, director Paul Soriano, are already talking about what’s in store for their relationship in the future.

Speaking on “The Buzz” where she’s one of the hosts, Gonzaga said she and Soriano had a good talk about the “future” just recently when the TV director returned to the country from a trip abroad.

“[We talk about] the future [sa mga panahong ito]. Dapat laging ganun. There’s no sense in talking about the past or the present, dapat laging sa future. If you’re looking forward to a better future, that’s where your life is heading,” she said.

When asked by her co-host Boy Abunda if the “future” pertains to them eventually settling down, the TV host said: “Papunta doon.”

Despite this, Gonzaga was quick to add that Soriano has yet to ask for her hand in marriage.

According to Gonzaga, she has been firm in saying that she does not want to get married anytime this year.

“Wala pa, naku po. Hindi ko masabi talaga. Pero ang sabi ko sa kanya, dahil bandwagon this year, sabay-sabay at napakaraming [nagpapakasal], ‘Huwag tayo sasabay, wala nang venue,’” she said.

Soriano and Gonzaga have been a couple for seven years now.

In a past interview, Soriano said he has learned to be patient, especially since his girlfriend is now at the peak of her career.

“Being the boyfriend of someone so busy, who’s in front of the camera almost every day, I’ve learned to be very patient. It’s good. Good things come to those who wait,” he said.

Gonzaga is a mainstay of “ASAP” and “The Buzz.” She is also hosting the second season of “The Voice of the Philippines.”

Soriano, on the other hand, is currently doing TV commercials and is producing and directing films.

But despite their respective busy schedules, Soriano said he’s glad that they can make time for each other.

MIAA: No foul play in death of airport police trainee

MANILA – The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Monday insisted that one of its trainees died of acute pancreatitis or "bangungot", following suspicions that there was foul play involved in the death.

In a statement, the MIAA said a medico-legal report revealed that Airport Police trainee Leo Lazaro died of acute pancreatitis following a team building activity in a resort in Nueva Ecija.

Lazaro was a member of the last batch of Airport Police Department (APD) trainees for the year, the MIAA said.

MIAA general manager Jose Angel Honrado said Lazaro's relatives were fetched from their house in Pandacan, Manila following the death of the police trainee.

To dispel suspicisons of foul play, Honrado said the Lazaro family was allowed to witness the autopsy of Lazaro's body.

Honrado said the MIAA does not engage in any abusive training style ''that would inflict pain or worse, cause the death of a trainee."

Pamilya, dudang bangungot ang ikinamatay ng police trainee

MANILA - Hindi matanggap ng naulilang pamilya at kasintahan ng trainee ng airport police na namatay siya sa bangungot matapos mapansin na tila pinahirapan umano ang namatay na kaanak.

Nagluluksa ang pamilya Lazaro sa pagkamatay ng 27-anyos na bunso sa anim na magkakapatid na si Leo matapos umanong bangungutin habang nasa huling yugto ng kanilang training sa pagpupulis sa airport sa Nueva Ecija.

Oktubre pumasok sa kurso si Leo at patapos na sana ang training ngunit kahapon, tanging mga gamit at malamig na bangkay na lang ni Leo ang umuwi sa kanilang bahay sa Pandacan, Manila.

Namatay umano sa bangungot si Leo, ngunit duda ang kanyang mga kamag-anak na ito nga ang dahilan ng kanyang pagkamatay.

''Kung binangungot siya, dapat puputok yung bituka niya hindi ganyan eh…Dumating siya dito nakabukas pa isang mata, bali ang braso parang pinahirapan eh,'' ani Laurence Lazaro, kapatid ni Leo.

''Ang gusto lang po namin malaman ung totoo,'' ani Lulu Lazaro, isa pang kapatid ni Leo.

Lumabas sa medico-legal examination na bangungot ang ikinamatay ni Leo. Marami umanong nakain si Leo nang gabing nangyari ang pagka-bangungot.

''Sabi kasi nila nung una nabangungot tapos sabi nag-swimming daw... Ang dami kasi nilang sinabi hindi na malaman kung ano ang totoo,'' ani Rosalia Padilla, kasintahan ni Leo.

Nakatakdang lumabas ang resulta ng autopsy sa labi ni Leo ngayong araw. Sinagut naman ng institusyong pinasukan ni Leo ang gastusin sa pag-uuwi sa kanyang mga labi sa Maynila hanggang sa kanyang pagpapalibing.

Wala pang inilalabas na pahayag ang Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group kaugnay ng pangyayari.

Workers to feel tax exemptions by mid-2015

MANILA - House Ways and Means Committee chair Rep. Miro Quimbo on Monday said taxpayers will feel the benefit of the just-approved higher tax exemptions for their 13th month and other bonuses by the middle of next year.

Quimbo said the House decided to adopt the Senate version of the measure to forego any further debates.

He said one reason it wasn't implemented this year was because many employees have already received their bonuses and ordering a refund may be too complicated.

Quimbo estimated that some 1.4 million Filipinos will benefit from the measure.

He sees no reason for President Aquino to veto it.

Only Aquino's signature is needed before salaried workers can benefit from a bill increasing the tax exemptions of 13th month pay and other bonuses from the current P30,000 to P82,000.
